Businesses and organizations that offer gift cards are grouped into specific categories based on their predominate merchandise or service lines. The product line classification supersedes how purchases and transactions are conducted. For example, a business that sells apparel via brick and mortar stores has the same business classification as a business that only sells apparel via online stores or mail catalogs. Lastly, businesses should only have one category.
